Invent an Alien

27th Annual Invent An Alien Competition

In 2012 the aliens are coming from any Moon

Pick a moon…. Any moon! You could stay close to home and choose the Earth’s moon which is small and rocky or go to the moons of the gas giants and choose Io- the young, volcanic moon of Jupiter, Europa the potentially frozen water covered moon subject to Jupiter’s tidal pull or Hyperion, a small irregularly shaped moon of Saturn that is rich in organic materials. There is a choice of over 70 moons that orbit the 9 planets of our solar system!

Research your moon and do a great write-up on it and then learn about all the different body systems and apply this knowledge to your alien.

Give your students the opportunity to use a wide range of educational skills such as researching, planning, implementing the plan, brainstorming, interviewing, creative thinking, presenting and building with their choice of materials.

Si vous faites ce projet en français, c’est une occasion merveilleuse d’inciter vos élèves de s’exprimer !!
