Project Evaluation

The judges listen to the student's oral presentation. Each project is viewed twice and the judges later meet and discuss the entries. At times a third judge will be involved in determining the final outcome. Points are awarded for creativity, scientific thought, knowledge of the alien location, and knowledge of biological systems. Presentations from grade 6's are expected to be more complex and detailed that grade 4's. Points determine whether the project is at the gold level (higher than 85 points), silver level (70 to 84 points), bronze level (55 to 69 points) or an honorable mention. The judging forms, one in English and one in French are attached. The French form is slightly different than the English form. Schools can use them to judge at the school level if they wish.
